Power Pops are small cylindrical treats comprised of 100% tripe. This product is freeze dried and thus requires no additional preservatives to make it shelf stable. Best of all, this process retains almost all of the ingredients nutritional integrity.

At roughly 1/2 in diameter and only a few calories a piece, Power Pops are perfect for training. Last but not least, like all of Dr. Harvey’s products, they are also sourced and manufactured right here in the USA.

What Exactly is Tripe Anyway?

Tripe is the stomach of a grazing animal – and in the case of these treats, grass fed cow. An important distinction to look into when choosing tripe for dogs is whether or not it has been bleached. Dr. Harvey’s Power Pops consist of 100% green tripe meaning that it still contains all those useful digestive enzymes that kept it working properly in the first place. Just as these bacteria were useful to the cow in which they originated, they are extremely beneficial to your dog as well.

Packaging & Appearance

Power Pops come in a 3 oz. resealable plastic bag. If you are unfamiliar with freeze dried dog treats, this may not sound like a lot, but trust us, there are a good amount of treats in each bag. Dr. Harvey’s recently had a whole branding revamp and we have to say we love the latest graphics and copy on the bags.

Like us, you may be a bit grossed out by the thought of feeding tripe to your dog. Although these treats are in a form all their own, it is clear to see what they consist of – in a good way. This means they are not overly processed, but just formed into a somewhat uniform size and shape.

Taste & Scent

These treats have a slight, but not off-putting odor that will no doubt catch the attention of any dog. Just after opening the bag, Harley and Charlie were begging for a taste. They were certainly not keen on my delay for photography!

When I was finally done taking pictures, Power Pops were enticing enough to eek out every trick in their repertoire!
