The Petter – Lifestyle Planner and Organizer

Written by Kevin Sando

We all know the joy that animals bring to our lives – But there is no doubt that they add some responsibility as well.  From vet and grooming appointments to training classes and medication schedules, there is a lot that goes into maintaining their health and well being.  For multi-pet households like ours, keeping on top of everything can be especially challenging.  This is why I was so excited when I heard about The Petter Pet Planner and they were kind enough to send a copy for us to review!

Product Review

The Petter is attractive and well thought out.  It has numerous features that do an excellent job of helping to stay on top of whatever your pets have going on.  The planner itself includes pet resource information, important dates throughout the year, and even weekly pet facts and quotes.  The day-by-day entry sections are spacious and and include a daily reminder to schedule in some quality time with your pet.

The provided sticky tabs are great to mark the most important dates and appointments.  There are even sections to record emergency contacts and any pertinent information for up to 6 individual pets.  This includes name, age, markings, medication schedules, veterinary information and much more.  I really like the idea of having all of this information recorded and easy to find should an issue arise where someone needs to care for your pets.  The scrapbook section is a nice touch as well, as you can add photos, ribbons or other mementos gathered throughout the year.  Finally, the folder is great for storing documents like veterinary paperwork and appointment cards.

I really love the concept of The Petter, but their are a few possible improvements that came to mind while using it over the last several weeks. It would be nice to have a more durable or laminated cover that would hold up better if you needed to carry it around with you, or are prone to spilling coffee like myself.  Additionally, the magnet holding my pad of sticky notes onto the back cover ended up falling off so perhaps a stronger glue could be used on the magnetic strip.

Final Thoughts

While The Petter is a great planner, for us it represents much more than that.  It is a way to organize your pets life easily and in one place. Over the last several years our family has grown from 1 to 4 pets and keeping on top of their schedules has become a much more time consuming task.  Not only does The Petter help to organize all of the necessary information, but I feel that it helps to reinforce that our pets have needs too.  We all lead busy lives, and a reminder to stay on top of our pets care and even to schedule in special time to improve their quality of life is a great thing.  The Petter is an excellent idea and a product that any pet owner would find helpful.
