I’m always on the search for “tough dog toys” that can withstand the chewing of my two year old chocolate lab. The Dura Chew by Nylabone does just that. Besides being one of the strongest toys available, Nylabone Dura Chews are long lasting, which is a money saver! The Nylabone Dura Chew promises to keep your persistent chewer occupied for long periods of time. It usually takes months before the bones need to be replaced, and that should be done once the knuckles of the bone have been worn away.

Nylabone products are made of a safe synthetic polymer. They come in bacon, liver, chicken, and original flavors and are designed into a bone shape. Nylabones are designed to be strong, but of course, persistent chewers may prevail. Occasionally, rice-sized pieces may raise up and flake off the bone. This is to be expected, and as long as these pieces remain small they will safely pass through the dog’s digestive system.

As the description on the Nylabone website reads, the bones are “designed for powerful chewers. Bristles raised during chewing help clean teeth and control plaque & tartar build-up.” If your dog is an overly aggressive chewer and you notice he is ripping off larger pieces, it is recommended that you take away the bone. As always, whenever introducing a toy to your dog, be sure to supervise your pup until you can judge how he is handling the toy. Visit Nylabone on Facebook or check out the Nylabone website to find the product that is right for your dog!
