I have always felt that the very best dog toys are the ones that play on your dogs natural instincts, and perhaps the best example I can think of is the Kong Wubba.
Product Description
The Kong Wubba is a very unique looking dog toy. It is essentially 2 balls covered in fabric which extend into long strips on one end. The balls are roughly 4.5″ and 3.5″ in diameter with an overall product length of 15.5.” There are several varieties of Wubbas, primarily differentiated by the type of fabric covering, size, and durability. The Wet Wubba is covered in a neoprene fabric (think wetsuits) and is designed for play in water. The Wet Wubba floats extremely well, and is available in 3 bright color varieties.
Product Review
The Kong Wet Wubba is great for light tugging and fetching. As soon as your dog gets this toy, the reason behind it’s unique shape will become apparent, as your dog will immediately want to shake it. I love this aspect of the design and Kong has really done a great job in creating a toy that highlights this innate behavior. Harley absolutely loves the way that it moves when fetching or shaking, and this remains the only toy that he will consistently retrieve. While not only for play in water, this is where the Wet Wubba really excels. It floats well and dries quickly for when the fun has finally ended. This toy is quite durable during normal play, but could be torn apart if used for heavy tugging. It should also be noted that this is not a chew toy, as we learned after Harley got one of the balls out! Even with only one ball left it still floats and our dog continues to enjoy it, but this toy is best left for fetch at the park and not in the dog accessible toy bin.
Final Thoughts
If your dog wants to, they will be able to rip open the fabric to get the balls out. I would definitely recommend this toy, but you might want to limit it to supervised play in order to prolong its life! The Kong Wet Wubba is an excellent dog toy that is both versatile and unique, and one that I am confident your dog will enjoy.
I love the Wubba products but am always a little disappointed with them. We have hours of fun, but I have to supervise otherwise it gets easily torn or destroyed.
