Fat Cat Water Bottle Crunchers

Written by Kevin Sando

One of my first memories of Harley, is of him batting a plastic water bottle around the living room floor. He seemed to be having the time of his life with all the chomping and pouncing.  I later learned that he was not unique in this regard, and most puppies (and dogs for that matter) love plastic bottles. The crunch, the unpredictable movement, and perhaps most importantly of all the feeling that they are getting away with something all add to the appeal. As an owner, this is clearly not an ideal toy for reasons of safety, although we may be willing to appease them for a moment from time to time.

Product Use

Fat Cat Water Bottle Crunchers consists of a plastic bottle covered in a durable fabric.  They come in a variety of colors and styles and are great for fetch and light “crunching.”  They also include a velcro flap so that a new bottle can be inserted when an old one gets worn out.

Final Thoughts

This is definitely not a serious chew toy as most dogs could tear it open in no time if they were so inclined.  That being said, we found the material to be fairly resilient and durable when used as designed.  Harley loves his Water Bottle Cruncher and we have gotten a great deal of use out of it.  However, due to the possibility of tearing open the Water Bottle Crunchers and getting to the water bottle inside, they are definitely best for supervised play.  If your dog enjoys gentle crunching and gnawing this toy would be a huge hit!
